From our understanding the LBAM came into our country either partly or entirely becasue Department of Homeland Security (DHS) started inspecting incomming plants.

Since DHS have taken over inspections there has been problems with quality inspections. This is why Senators Feinstein and Durbin Introduce Bill to Transfer Responsibility for Agriculture Inspections from DHS back to USDA. Bill text S.887

HOMELAND SECURITY Management and Coordination Problem Increase the Vulnerability of U.S. Agriculture to Foreign Pests and Disease

"With government reports showing a big drop in agricultural inspections at U.S. ports of entry, legislation has been introduced in the Senate to transfer inspections back to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service from the Department of Homeland Security."- By Kate Campbell Assistant Editor, California Farm Bureau Federation

AG also failed to mention there was a major investigation which reveailed that that the "New Zealand government failed to meet the basic responsibility of a government to protect its citizens from physical harm." read more

- Judge Ware dismissed the Edna Williams et al. vs. USDA, CDFA et al. case. Read LbamSpray.info's analysis.

We are getting a lot of emails about the recent federal court case. Thank you to all of you for your concerns about needing an attorney for the case. There were a few attorneys that had offered their assistance for free, but unfortunately, Edna Williams declined their offers. LbamSpray.info's main role in the case was to help organize people to assist Edna Williams. It was not our role to decide whose assistance would be accepted. LbamSpray.info will keep working with the community to help in any way that we can concerning the LBAM issue.
